What most of us do not understand is that interior design takes a very keen and knowledgeable eye. We may be out shopping and see something we love, but that does not necessarily mean that it will look perfect in our home. Interior designers understand how color, lighting, room size, scale, and placement all affect how items look in a room and dictates whether they will make or break a room design.
Set to be all about rich, deep and warm colours, burgundy, terracotta and aubergine. Here in this home office/music room, the baseline is warmth and cosiness, accented by bright pops of colour, like the yellow lamp and turquoise cushions. Those deeper, rusty and purple-rich colours are perfect to mix with dark woods found in vintage or antique pieces of furniture. It is definitely a good time to stop hiding grannys dark side table or bookcase, they could add character to your interiors and help create an atmosphere that is at once familiar, comfortable and stylish.
