Many homeowners and designers agree that light yellow is a winning color in the kitchen. It is friendly enough not to raise any eyebrows, yet distinctive enough that it will complement most types of kitchen cabinet wood species. Like whites, the yellows reflect maximum ambient light, a plus if you have a gloomy townhouse or row house—yet without the hospital-sterile feeling that white convey.
Instead of traditional closed upper cabinets, go for storage that feels airy instead of bulky. Only and repeat only, do this if you are not a tornado in the kitchen, and can keep everything neat and tidy. This is not just keeping things tidy and tucked away, although it is that too. It is about maintaining clean lines, without tons of overly decorative details. Avoid things like corbels and ornate cabinet pulls, and opt for a more minimalist look instead. The small metal hardware and modern cabinet fronts in kitchen keep things open and fuss free.
