Simply put, layering textiles is the key to creating a warm, well-designed space, and neutral colors allow you to create this space more easily. Scandinavians have had this design style down-pat for centuries. The neutral color scheme allows the modern tub, shiny tiles, rustic wooden ladder, and modern dark wood vanity to come to the forefront and tell the story of the room design.
Every room needs a focal point, it offers a place for the eye to rest and assigns a room with a function, Larger rooms can have more than one focal point. This is a very common mistake, forgetting to give each room a purpose or point to focus on. Some rooms are simple, in a TV room the focal point usually ends up being the TV and the unit it is placed on, while all the other main objects in the room are focused and pointing towards the TV.

Light grey laminate with dark graphite edges has been chosen to make the room a little bit airier and lighter. Wardrobe doors have been chosen in moody matt graphite which adds more depth. All the furniture, doors and plinths have been chosen black to make a statement in an already light room. Adding a contrasting colour like black-white or grey-black makes the room more interesting and dynamic. Do not be afraid to choose statement pieces or play with colours and shades that shape the space and create something unique.
Even the most skilled designers make mistakes. It can be difficult to spot our mistakes when we have been muddling over the same room design for months—sometimes a room needs a fresh set of eyes to spot the problems. Ask a friend for an honest opinion on color choice, fabrics, or room arrangement. If it is feasible, hire an interior designer for guidance—you do not have to hire one for an entire design project, as there are plenty of designers who charge by the hour. Interior designers are full of clever design tips and tricks that can transform your home.
